How to write on a dvd

The next time you shop for blanks discs (it’s too late for the discs already in that basket), you might want to choose among the Verbatim products with a white area on the label side that makes any printing you do easier to read. For some of us, alas, who can’t read our own writing, writing isn’t much help.

Choosing How Windows Writes the Disc. Let’s get started. Log into your Windows machine and insert a blank recordable CD or DVD into your optical drive. As soon as you insert it, a window titled “ Burn a Disc ” will appear. This dialog asks you how you want Windows to handle writing the disc.

Choose the " Burn files to disc " option. Upon clicking, this window will appear: Enter the name of the disc. Be sure about the Disc name, after this process, you can't rename it anymore. Click on the first option, then NEXT. Windows will now format your Disc. This will only take a few seconds.

First, you need a blank disc you can burn your video to. You can buy a blank DVD from any audio or electronics store for less than $1 per disc or $10 per 10-piece packs. Use this method if you want to save the video's file to a DVD but don't plan to watch the movie on a DVD player.
